Many patients are taken completely off guard by a dental emergency. Whether it is because the pain has gradually increased over time or because you suddenly broke a tooth or lost a filling, your dental emergency can be frightening, make you feel helpless, and cause alarm. We are here to help. Here are some of our most common dental emergencies.

 A Lost Or Broken Crown

Many times, patients call and explain they were just eating a very common food such as bread and their crown either cracked or came off. Sometimes, dental crowns can be compromised because of your bite or because of secondary decay. If your crown is in one piece, bring it to your appointment. We may be able to save it.

A Broken Tooth

Like dental crowns, the patient who calls our office describing a recently broken tooth was usually eating some everyday food. Your tooth may have been compromised prior to it breaking. Sometimes, cracks can form in your teeth and you may not know until it is diagnosed at your regular dental exam. Sometimes, you may have put off getting a recommended crown and your tooth simply gave out. Either way, we are here to help. Dr. Kevin Burgdorf will provide solutions to treat your condition and restore your health.

General Tooth Pain

Sometimes that twinge of pain you thought might go away becomes a throbbing, painful ache that keeps you awake at night. While we cannot diagnose the cause over the phone, we can offer you an emergency appointment to determine what may be the root of your problem. Common causes of dental pain are because you need a root canal or you have deep decay, cracks, or problems with your bite. No matter the reason, Dr. Kevin Burgdorf is committed to your health and comfort.

If you are a patient of record experiencing a dental emergency, call our great St. Louis area dentist office as soon as possible and provide us with as many details about your emergency as you can. We will assess your condition and help you feel comfortable as quickly as possible.
